U.S. Government Airlifts More than 16 Tons of Medical Equipment to Liberia

On August 24, the U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development and the U.S. Ebola Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART), airlifted more than 16 tons of medical equipment and emergency supplies to Liberia for the Ebola response.  The shipment included 10,000 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), two water treatment units and two water portable water tanks, capable of holding 10,000 liters of water each and 100 rolls of plastic sheeting, which can used in the construction of Ebola treatment centers.  Photo courtesy of Carol Han, USAID/OFDA.
