The U.S. Embassy in Liberia continues to support Liberia’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a part of our continued partnership with Liberia’s justice and law enforcement institutions, the U.S. State Department Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), in close coordination with Liberian government and civil society representatives, developed a COVID-19 awareness and prevention campaign for rural areas. INL sponsored nationwide radio programs and established handwashing and body temperature stations at border crossings in rural communities through its Mitigating Local Disputes in Liberia (MLDL) program. Additionally, a radio message raising awareness about COVID-19 was developed and recorded in 13 languages. This radio message is airing on multiple radio stations until mid-September.
