Charge d’Affaires a.i. Sam Watson Visits Salala, Bong County

On February 28, Charge d’Affaires a.i. Sam Watson was in Salala, Bong County, to speak at the “Future Leaders Conference” organized by the National Service Learning Institute.   In addition to his stop at the conference, the Charge also paid a visit to a Salala health facility funded by the U.S. government through the USAID “Fixed Amount Reimbursement Agreement” (FARA) with the Ministry of Health.  Through FARA, USAID supports the provision of an essential package of health services to 122 facilities in Liberia.  FARA works to reduce maternal, neonatal, and child mortality through integrated systems and service delivery investments.

On his return to Monrovia, Charge Watson also stopped in Kakata to visit with Peace Corps Volunteers working in Margibi County and to hold a roundtable with alumni of past exchange programs sponsored by the United States.
