Achievements in Civil Society Honored at Gala Event

 

Five outstanding Liberian civil society leaders were recognized last week during the first ever Liberia Development Awards gala.  Held on January 31, 2017, the ceremony presented awards for outstanding achievements in in health, education, agricultural, business and civil society.

Award winners included:

Health Care Worker of the Year:  Dr. Mosoka Fallah, Lead Scientist, Ebola Natural History Study Project.  Dr. Fallah was also voted Development Hero of the Year by those attending the Development Awards gala.
Teacher of the Year:  Theophilus Frankyu, Principal, Kpanay Town Public School, Kpanay Town, Grand Bassa County (Back to Camera)
Farmer of the Year: Mohamed V. Kamara (right), Liberia Agriculture, Infrastructure, and Investment Company, Lofa County
Entrepreneur of the Year: Edwina Dorlaseay Vakun, Founder and CEO, Business Link, Monrovia, Liberia
Civil Society Organization of the Year: Accountability Lab Liberia
